Biography
Katherine Almy grew up in Southern California with absolutely no interest in art or culture. She spent her college years wandering around – a trip to Europe, a stint in New York where she worked as a bookkeeper for the Richard Curtis Literary Agency, and finally settled in the Pacific Northwest.
She spent her post college years in college, taking classes for the hell of it. After a year as a studio art major, she switched to Art History, in which she received her Bachelor's degree from Humboldt State University. She then went on to the University of Oregon to get a Master's degree in Arts Administration.
After all that, she figured out what she really wanted to do – write! Her knowledge and passion for the visual arts started her career in writing, as she became the Art Beat columnist for the North Coast Journal and has published art reviews in Artweek Magazine.
Motherhood provided another source of inspiration, and she has published a short story called If You Give a Mom a Nap in Brain, Child magazine.
Katherine now lives in the magical land of Humboldt County, California, with her husband Richard and their son, who just happens to be the most intelligent and beautiful child on the planet.

Into the Mystery:
the art of Nina Groth
Throughout history, the primary function of art has been to represent the world as we see it. It has been a way to cheat the relentless forward march of time and hang on to an image that does not age or fade away (well, at least not as quickly as humans do).
